We are a nonprofit association based in Belgium. Our goal is to respond to the health needs of women and children in Rwanda through education, exchange, and cooperation.
Mama na Mtoto are swahili words that mean mother and child.
The name originated from the experience --the founders of Mama na Mtoto learnt while working in different different development projects-- that issues affecting women and children make up a big proportion of those needing help. Our work focuses on women and children, but we are also aware that development is attained best when it alienates no one; we are inclusive in our planning and participative in our implementation.
Vision
Mama na Mtoto envisages to see that every woman, every child and every community we work with, are empowered to thrive and have access to quality health services.
Mission
To critically assess the needs of the beneficiaries of our interventions, involve them in planning projects and let them be the drivers of their own development.
